E-470 User's Guide to Paying Tolls E-470 User's Guide to Paying Tolls

How to Pay Tolls with EXpressToll

EXpressToll customers on E-470 pay a lower toll rate. EXpressToll operates via windshield- or bumper-mounted transponders that allow pre-paid tolls to be automatically deducted from a customer's account.

When a customer's account is reduced to approximately $10, a pre-authorized advance is made from the customer's credit card to restore the EXpressToll account balance to $35.

Transponders are loaned to EXpressToll customers.

EXpressToll accounts can accommodate multiple vehicles within a household or business.

Through automatic vehicle technology, EXpressToll customers pass through mainline toll plazas and ramp toll plazas with dedicated express lanes without stopping.

How to Pay Tolls with License Plate Toll

License Plate Toll customers will be sent a statement for their travel through any lanes. For those vehicles without an EXpressToll transponder, cameras will photograph the front and rear license plates and a statement will be sent to the registered owner of the vehicle for their tolls. No advance registration is required.

The License Plate Toll statement must be paid in full by the due date or a second statement with a $5 late fee will be mailed. If the second statement is not paid in full by the due date, a toll violation notice will be mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle which will include a $25 civil penalty for each unpaid toll.
