I-70 / E-470 Interchange Project I-70 / E-470 Interchange Project

Overview of the E-470/I-70 Interchange
The E-470 Public Highway Authority, the city of Aurora, and the Colorado Department of Transportation have approved an Intergovernmental Agreement to proceed with a north- south E-470 flyby. The flyby allows E-470 commuters to continue their north or southbound travel, bypassing the traffic signals at the E-470/I-70/Gun Club Road interchange. The design-build contract was awarded to Lawrence Construction in August 2004. The two-year construction project broke ground in January 2005, and was completed on August 24, 2006.
